Debuting on the top ten list this year is a woman who had a fantastic year: winning an Oscar and earning buzz for another, not to mention having the starring role in one of the top grossing films of the year, Jennifer Lawrence is in the number three spot. Microsoft Board Names Satya Nadella as CEO
On February 4, 2014, Microsoft Corp. announced that its board of directors had appointed Satya Nadella as chief executive officer and member of the board of directors effective. Nadella previously held the position of executive vice president of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group.

CBS Announces Stephen Colbert as the Next Host of The Late Show
The CBS Television Network announced on April 10 that Stephen Colbert, the host, writer and executive producer of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning The Colbert Report, will succeed David Letterman as the host of The Late Show.
The five-year agreement between CBS and Colbert was announced by Leslie Moonves, president and CEO, CBS Corp., and Nina Tassler, chairman of CBS Entertainment. You can read the original announcement here.

Clippers Sold for $2 Billion
Shelly Sterling announced on May 30 that she signed a binding contract for the sale of the Clippers by the Sterling Family Trust to Steve Ballmer at a price of $2 billion. Shelly Sterling was acting under her authority as the sole trustee of the Sterling Family Trust which owns the Clippers.

GM Announces Six Safety Recalls
General Motors announced on June 30 it would conduct six new safety recalls in the U.S. involving about 7.6 million vehicles from the 1997 to 2014 model years.
