NICB’s 2015 Hot Spots Vehicle Theft Report
California’s Modesto Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) had the nation’s highest per capita vehicle theft rate in 2015, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau’s (NICB) latest Hot Spots report. Moreover, California owned eight of the top 10 Hot Spots for vehicle theft in 2015. NICB’s Hot Spots report examines vehicle theft data obtained from the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) for each of the nation’s MSAs. MSAs are designated by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and often include areas much larger than the cities for which they are named. For example, the number one spot, the Modesto, Calif. MSA, includes all thefts within the entire county of Stanislaus, not just the city of Modesto. See the full release to see where you’re most likely to have your car stolen.

Netflix and Binge: New Binge Scale Reveals TV Series We Devour and Those We Savor
Netflix members around the world are making their own rules when it comes to watching TV. Instead of one episode per week, Netflix members choose to binge watch their way through a series — that is, on average, finishing an entire season in one week. Though binge watching is clearly the new normal, not all series are enjoyed the same way. On June 8, Netflix unveiled The Binge Scale, revealing which shows we devour and which we savor. See the full release to see more about The Binge Scale.

11-Week-Old Eagle ‘Freedom’ Fledges National Arboretum Nest Live on the DC Eagle Cam!
On the afternoon of Sunday, June 5 at around 2:30 p.m. EDT, “Freedom,” one of the two young eagles residing in the nest of “Mr. President” and “The First Lady” at the U.S. National Arboretum, fledged the nest! A DC Eagle Cam viewer captured a video of Freedom’s first flight from the American Eagle Foundation’s Internet video feed. “At first glance, the fledge did not look too graceful,” said American Eagle Foundation President Al Cecere. “But as the video is viewed more closely at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, Freedom can be seen flapping her wings and flying upward onto a branch of a nearby tree.” See the full release to learn about the eagles and see the video of the eagles in their nest.
