3 Steps: How to Sign Up for Official Democratic and Republican Convention News
The Democratic and Republican conventions are around the corner, and the world closely will be watching what shakes out of Philadelphia and Cleveland.
PR Newswire is the exclusive press release distributor for both conventions. This is an honor and a job that we take very seriously.

As with past conventions, we will have PR Newswire audience team members on the ground in both cities to ensure quick and comprehensive delivery of news releases, speech copy, and podium schedules to members of the media through the PR Newswire for Journalists site.
If you need the official convention newsfeed(s) now, here are the steps to get onto the distribution.
1. Visit PR Newswire for Journalists.
If you already are a member of PR Newswire for Journalists, log in at the top right of the landing page. Go to My PR Newswire and select “Create New Profile.”
If you’re new to these parts, hit the green button in the center of the page that says Get Started Now. Fill in the registration form and go directly to your My PR Newswire tab and Create New Profile.
2. Create a news profile for DNC and/or RNC news only.
After selecting “Create New Profile,” name your newsfeed.
Under Delivery Options, make sure you select “yes” beside your email address, where it asks, “Link address to this profile?” Then, select your preferred email schedule (real time or daily), type of email (full release, abstract, or headline only) and format (HTML or plain text).
For convention coverage, we recommend real time delivery of full releases in HTML format. This will allow you to see the news immediately and completely in your email, upon distribution. You can also access any URLs in the content.
For Democratic National Convention or Republican National Convention (or both), go to Profile Criteria.
Under Company Name, fill in either “2016 Democratic National Convention Committee” or “2016 Republican National Convention”. If you want news from both entities, fill in the first one and hit enter. Then enter the second one and hit enter.
Your selections will populate in the shaded box to the right. Make no other selections if you want the full convention newsfeed(s). Just hit Save & View at the bottom.
3. Or, create a news profile for the full election newsfeed.
If you want to see election-related news from all sources, create a newsfeed on political campaigns.
To do this, create a new news profile. After selecting your Delivery Options, scroll down to Subjects on the right-hand side of the page. Select Political Campaigns.
Make no other selections if you want the full political campaigns newsfeed. Hit Save & View at the bottom.
If you’re in either Cleveland or Philadelphia and need assistance, stop by the joint press office and ask for the PR Newswire rep.
We’ll be on hand for release customization, questions, and anything else you might need. You also can send questions or requests to [email protected].
Need assistance setting up your custom newsfeed? We’re happy to help! Simply email us or fill out the contact form below and our team will hook you up.
