It’s an understatement to say that I enjoy plants.

I’m obsessed. Some people read music; I read plants.

I’ve filled my home with green beauties, and the home of anyone else who will let me.

So this blog profiles speaks directly to my passion. We’re taking on plant blogs today.

1. Houseplant Girl

Houseplant Girl and I honestly could be BFFs.

I identify with how Michelle first was exposed to gardening: “I became interested in plants at a young age, watching my mom care for all the foliage and fauna she strategically placed throughout our house, each and every season. No matter the weather, cold and blustery with 20 inches of snow or hot and painstakingly humid, she always had thriving houseplants.”

Today, Michelle is an “acupuncturist, herbalist, and constant gardener.”

Her site features a “start here” button, house plant categories, essential oils, medicinal plants, and resources.

2. Urban Jungle Bloggers

I have to give credit to one of my colleagues for putting this one on my radar. She introduced me to Urban Jungle Bloggers through Instagram.

Urban Jungle Bloggers is a global community of plant lovers.

Igor Josifovic and Judith de Graaff are the bloggers and friends behind Urban Jungle Bloggers.

“We want to highlight the beauty and benefits of houseplants and other greeneries in urban spaces,” the blog says. “Living with plants is not merely about styling and decorating. Houseplants have beneficial effects on our living environment and make our lives better, healthier and more beautiful.”

There’s some good stuff here.

3. House Plant Journal

House Plant Journal promotes the basics of responsible plant parenthood.

Darryl Cheng breaks down plant care in an easy-to-digest, readable manner.

“Part of the problem is that most plant care information is usually associated to a specific plant, giving the impression that those conditions/care instructions are unique to that plant,” he says. “In reality, you should consider your home as having several potential plant homes and choose plants accordingly.”

I couldn’t agree more.

I absolutely loved and identified with his relationship account with his Monstera deliciosa, and I appreciated his house plant wisdom on How Often Should I Water This Plant?

4. The Jungalow

The Jungalow is a Bohemian lifestyle blog of Justina Blakeney.

Blakeney is a designer, artist, and author.

“The Jungalow is the name of our home, design studio and blog that celebrates color, pattern and plants,” the site says.

I like this place.

Several posts that drew me in include Spring is Here at The Jungalow HQ, B+W vs. Roygbiv, and The Magical World of Sera Hersham-Loftus/Sera of London (one word: dreamy).
