Blog Profiles: Candy Blogs

Welcome to Blog Profiles! Each week, we select a topic and handful of blogs that do a great job contributing to the conversation. We have a craving for sweets this week, so we’re looking at candy blogs. Do you have a blog that deserves recognition? Tweet our writers at @BeyondBylines.

Candy Blogs We Love - mediablog.prnewswire.com

I have a sweet tooth.

Most who know me know that I spent five years working at two separate candy stores (and yes, we were allowed to eat as much candy as we wanted – a policy that I still think may have cost them money with the amount of candy I ate).

So, yeah, I love sugar. I mostly have a soft spot for dark chocolate-covered marshmallows, but I will literally eat anything, given that it doesn’t consist of nuts.

1. ZOMG! Candy

This blog has been around since 2010, and it judges sugar based on a five-point rating system.

I noticed that it pointed out the struggle of buying sugarless candy (which we always had to, unashamedly, warn clients that eating more than a handful would cause severe gastrointestinal issues.)

Another thing I enjoyed about it was that this blog, apparently, causes quite a bit of contention with its reviews.

2. Dylan’s World

This is the blog of Dylan’s Candy Store (If you haven’t been, I recommend going. It’s a large franchise that seems to have everything, including decade-themed candy gift bags).

Its blog features everything, from store and location opening announcements to step-by-step instructions on candy (and cocktail recipes). It also offers tips and ideas for parties and events, which I find kind of cute.

3. CandyStore.com Blog

CandyStore.com helped save Necco Wafers from going under earlier this year, so to not put them on this list would be a travesty. This site (when not a blog) is actually a bulk candy retailer, so, when you finish reading its latest updates, you can go over to the retail side and buy whatever fancies your craving.

Like Dylan’s Candy Bar, it has all kinds of recipes to offer, however, it also provides news on what’s actually going on in the candy industry (not just reviews).

4. Stutz Candy Blog

Stutz is a family-owned confectionary business, which has been in the business since the 1930s. This store and site reminds me of the local candy stores I worked at growing up.

Like some of the other blogs featured on here, its blog features some informative posts regarding the effects of candy and chocolate on the body, however, it also showcases the art of candy making.
