This lingering winter has me running for comfort food.
In fact, National Meatball Day just took place on March 9. Who wouldn’t want to celebrate that?
So lately, I’ve been obsessed with cooking many amazing recipes. I’ve got my favorites. I figured now would be a great time to share.
1. Smitten Kitchen
If there’s such a thing as a Smitten Kitchen groupie, I’m raising my hand. I absolutely love this site, the books, and its Instagram presence.
Smitten Kitchen’s Deb Perelman speaks my language when it comes to delicious food. It’s almost like she reads my mind, when I come across a tasty morsel that needs to make itself known in my oven.
Her site covers every type of recipe, including Best Of material and Surprise Me! types.
Posts I need to cook right now: Cauliflower and tomato masala with peas, Chocolate caramel tart, and Cabbage and mushroom “lasagna.”

2. Detoxinista
I found Detoxinista a couple of years ago, and recently turned to it for help: I needed a tomato-free marinara sauce.
I discovered this bit of deliciousness: Tomato-less Marinara Sauce (Nightshade-Free, AIP). Holy cow. This sauce.
Detoxinista features easy, healthy, and delicious food. It’s managed by Megan Gilmore, a former fast food junkie-turned-nutritionist.
“I love creating healthy recipes that taste like my comfort food favorites,” Gilmore says.
Posts that caught my eye include: Gluten-Free Brownies (Nut-Free & Egg-Free), Dragon Fruit Smoothie (That Everyone Loves!), and Sweet Potato Lasagna (Vegan & Soy-Free!).

3. Allrecipes
I’m always on this site. It’s about food, friends, and recipe inspiration.
Allrecipes says it’s the “original and largest food-focused social network created for cooks by cooks; where everyone plays a part in helping cooks discover and share the joy of home cooking.”
Notable recipes include: My Chili, White Cheese Chicken Lasagna, and Asian Lettuce Wraps.

4. i am a food blog
I am a food blog features recipes and stories about food and travel. It’s written by husband and wife team Mike and Steph.
“In its 7 years of existence it has covered such diverse subjects as mini beef wellingtons, driving through iceland’s ring road, and making pho in a pressure cooker,” the blog says.
Check out these tasty bits: The Right Way to Make Miso Soup, Malaysian Flatbread: Roti Canai Recipe, and How to Make the Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie.
