Blog Profiles: DIY Blogs
Welcome to Blog Profiles! Each week, we select a topic and handful of blogs that do a great job contributing to the conversation. For all the crafters, this list of unique DIY blogs is for you. Do you have a blog that deserves recognition? Tweet our writers at @BeyondBylines.
From remodeling to gardening to crafts, DIY is challenging, fun, and full of creativity.
We are celebrating all things DIY this week by introducing you to four outstanding do-it-yourself blogs.
1. The DIY Playbook
Casey Finn is based in Chicago and is the voice behind The DIY Playbook.
Finn offers a fresh and fun look at DIY. From a budget-friendly cabinet makeover to refinishing a desk to progress on her and her husband’s renovation process of their new fixer-upper, this blog is a must-bookmark for any aspiring DIY-er.
The tutorials section is particularly great, as are all the room makeovers.

2. Damask Love
If you are looking to learn how to easily DIY a bag, a scrapbook, a paper placement, or anything in between, Damask Love is for you.
The blog is committed to offering an array of lifestyle DIY projects that are easy and non-intimidating. Amber launched Damask Love in 2015 when she put her psychology career on hold and jumped headfirst into DIY.
Two articles that caught my eye are How to Make a Circle Tote Bag and How to Make a Lip Shaped Zipped Pouch.

3. Cuckoo 4 Design
Julia is a German citizen living in the U.S. who shares her passion for all things DIY, design, and pets on her blog.
She blogs about the journey of designing her small home on a budget in an even-keeled, approachable manner that will allow you to feel that you can jump right in and do it along with her.
A couple of noteworthy posts are the Wool and Yarn Macrame Wreath Tutorial and the DIY Fine Art Reproduction Oil Painting of My Great-Grandmother.

4. Vintage Revivals
Mandi Gubler’s no-project-is-too-big attitude is refreshing and fun, and her blog captures the fearless attitude of a girl who loves to make old things new.
Her “About Us” page captures it perfectly: “Small projects? Pshhh. I don’t even know what that means. I make over entire spaces and show you step by step how to recreate it yourself on your team.”
A couple of interesting articles include Why We Still DIY Everything and When Things Get Significantly Worse Before They Get Better.
