Blogger Conferences: Top Events to Attend in September & October 2019

No matter what topic you blog about, there’s a conference out there to help you level-up.
We’ve compiled a list of some of the must-attend events for bloggers in the coming weeks. Browse the list to find the one that’s right for you and can help you develop your blogging knowledge and skills.
Various Dates: WordCamp
These locally-organized conferences cover all things WordPress. Depending on the community, WordCamp topics may differ, but the events generally help attendees learn how to get the most out of WordPress, teach them how to use plugins and themes, etc. They are great for blogging newbies, WordPress pros, and anyone in between. In September, you can attend WordCamps in Las Vegas, Nev. (Sept. 7-8), New York City (Sept. 14-15), and Sacramento, Calif. (Sept. 21-22), with more in October.
Sept. 11-13: TBEX North America 2019
TBEX connects travel bloggers and journalists with influential brands and industry professionals. Workshops will address several travel-related topics, including drone photography, Instagram best practices, and SEO. #TBEX will be held at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center in Montana.
Sept. 13-14: Pinners Conference & Expo | Dallas
This Pinterest-based event offers classes and shopping for content creators in a wide variety of industries: DIY, crafts, cooking, self-improvement, photography, party planning, scrapbooking, holiday, beauty, and fashion. Many of the classes offer how-to presentations for DIY projects like bath bombs, hand lettering, furniture painting, and more. The Dallas event will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
Sept. 13-15: Ultimate Travel Writer’s Workshop
This intensive workshop will teach aspiring travel writers techniques for getting published and how to generate an income no matter where they live. Networking opportunities are available and attendees will be able to leave the three-day event with an original article in hand. General tickets have sold out, but options for livestreaming the event are still available.
Sept. 13: Bloggy Conference
Now in its ninth year, Bloggy Conference “exists to offer you a new and continuously developing approach to growth, networking and education in our ever-changing social media world.” Bloggers of all experience levels are encouraged to attend to learn more about social media and build an online presence. “Bloggy Con” will be at Hotel Breakers in Sandusky, Ohio.
Sept. 14: StyleWeekOC
Presented by SIMPLY and Fashion Island, this event offers attendees a day full of fashion and beauty panels and shopping parties. Final details for this year’s event are still being ironed out, but the 2018 StyleWeekOC included a VIP dinner, fashion shows, and discussions of the latest fashion trends, beauty secrets, and expert advice.
Sept. 18-19: Skift Global Forum
The Skift Global Forum, known as the “TED Talks of Travel,” offers marketers, strategists, and technologists two days of travel inspiration. The New York event is Skift’s largest and will host speakers from some of the biggest names in travel, including Hilton, Expedia, and Marriott. The single-stage event will cover topics like sustainable travel and the growing importance of experiences in travel. It will take place at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City.
Sept. 18-19: #BlogHer19 Creators Summit
This event gives ambitious women 1.5 days of beauty, wellness, education, and inspiration to improve their content and businesses. According to the site, “Whether you are looking to level-up your business, turn your side-hustle into a profitable endeavor, or use your influence to make impactful change, we have you covered.” Check out the Creators Summit at the Brooklyn Expo Center in New York.
Sept. 19-21: Tastemaker Conference
At the Tastemaker Conference, food bloggers, foodies, and vendors come together for two days of networking, learning, and of course, eating! Unfortunately, general admission tickets are sold out, but anyone interested in attending can join the waitlist through the website. The event will be at Leftbank Annex in Portland, Ore.
Sept. 21: More Than Just a Pretty Picture
The next one-day conference presented by FLOCK focuses on mastering Instagram to boost engagement and develop a larger, more devoted audience. Experts will discuss how they decide what to post, where their ideas come from, etc. The day of learning takes place at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif. — very Instagram-worthy, indeed.
Sept. 21: Create & Cultivate
This single-day event is all about the side hustle life and female entrepreneurship. Registered guests can attend a networking happy hour the night before the conference. The day of the conference is split into two tracks focused on (1) entrepreneurship and growing your brand, and (2) social media, marketing, and content creation. C&C will be held at SVN West in San Francisco.
Sept. 20-21: CVX Live
At CVX Live, social media fans, personalities, creators, and decision makers converge to network and develop the skills and opportunities to build an audience. Depending on the type of pass purchased, attendees have access to a variety of events, including meet & greets, industry and creator classes, and exclusive parties. CVX Live will be held at the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo, Utah.
Sept. 26-28: Type-A Bloggers Conference
This event is all about the business of blogging. Now in its 13th year, the Type-A Bloggers Conference offers workshops, panels, and more to bloggers and social media influencers. More than 500 are expected to attend – made up of mostly female entrepreneurs and lifestyle bloggers that write about a variety of topics. You can attend Type-A at the Westin Alexandria in Alexandria, Va.
Sept. 26-29: Travel Classics West 2019
Top travel writers and editors will attend Travel Classics West for four days of presentations, one-on-one meetings, a writing contest, networking, and more. Although the conference is currently sold out, a waitlist is available through the site. The event will take place at the Four Seasons Resort in Whistler, British Columbia.
Sept. 27-28: WOW Summit ’19
Moms and mom bloggers will gather in Texas for this two-day event. Whether you’re looking for a way to connect with other mom bloggers or get a look at the latest natural and organic products, this is the conference for you. Moms Meet puts on the conference, which includes one day for influencers and bloggers, and a second day open to all moms. WOW Summit will be in Arlington, Texas.
Oct. 3-5: ShiftCon
Bloggers, get ready for three days of health, wellness, and sustainability learning to grow your blog. ShiftCon, the “Eco-Wellness Influencer Conference,” will offer classes on food movement, ingredients, research, and more. Purchasers of the Elite passes also will have access to business-focused courses on photography, SEO, and marketing. This year, ShiftCon will go down at the Grand Hyatt in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, Ga.
Oct. 10: How to Drive Traffic to Your Blog: And Keep Them Coming Back
This one-day event is focused on traffic and analytics. Hosted by FLOCK, the conference will welcome content creators, bloggers, and influencers and teach them how to analyze their sites’ traffic and utilize the data to make adjustments and keep readers coming back. The learning session will take place at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
Oct. 10-12: Wine Media Conference
Formerly known as the Wine Bloggers Conference, this year’s Wine Media Conference will be held in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Australia. The conference changes location each year to expose attendees to a new wine region and its wines. Wine bloggers can network and learn more about blogging, social media, and communications. Qualified wine media members can register for a discounted rate in exchange for blog and social media posts.
Oct. 12: Blogger Week UnConference
The theme of the 5th annual UnConference is “Celebrating Multicultural Digital Media.” Hosted by Black Bloggers Connect, bloggers, journalists, and social media experts will have more than 20 workshops, panel discussions, and sessions to choose from in this jam-packed day. The event marks the end of Blogger Week and will be held at Trinity Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Oct. 11-13: Exposure & Profit
Hosted by Kelly McCausey of Love People + Make Money, 2019 marks the sixth year for this content marketing event. Session topics will cover tips for building your brand, creating impactful content, social media strategies, and more. The event is structured to appeal to both introverts and extroverts who “want to build or grow a long-term stable income leveraging the internet.” Attend Exposure & Profit at the Atlanta Airport Marriot in Atlanta.
Oct. 17-19: Hispanicize
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Hispanicize welcomes Latinx trendsetters, content creators, and newsmakers. The event is packed with musical performances, keynotes, live podcasts, and more. This year’s venue is the InterContinental Downtown Los Angeles.
Oct. 18-20: Gen Z Social Summit
Hosted by ConnectHER Media, the second Gen Z Social Summit of the year will take place on the west coast and will bring together “forward thinking Gen Z influencers with brands and leading organizations from across the nation.” Experienced content creators and rising influencer stars, plus their families, will come together for educational workshops and hands-on activations. The summit will be held at the Great Wolf Lodge in Garden Grove, Calif.
Oct. 21-23: Declare Conference
Declare Conference brings together Christian women who work as bloggers, writers, podcasters, and social media gurus. They will have opportunities to meet with agents and publishers, pick up plenty of swag, and network with fellow content creators. The event takes place at The Sanctuary event space in McKinney, Texas.
Oct. 22-29: 7in7
Calling all remote workers! 7in7 is the conference for you and believes “location independence” is “one of the pillars of the future of work, not to mention an amazing way to live.” The week-long conference includes a hackathon, workshops, game night, and volunteer opportunities. This year’s event will take place at the national library in Wellington, New Zealand. Can’t make it this year? Mark your calendars for 2022, when they plan to host the event in Antarctica.
Oct. 30: Vemex 2019
Vemex (Visit Europe Media Exchange) gives travel writers the opportunity to meet with European representatives to discuss their countries, regions, local attractions, museums, and more. One-on-one meetings are available in addition to open networking sessions. Journalists can learn about the latest in European travel at this “all in one day, under one roof information bonanza.” Vemex will be held at the Bohemian National Hall in New York City.
