The Trevor Project’s Annual National Survey Reveals Upward Trend in Suicidal Thoughts Among LGBTQ Youth with Large Disparities for Transgender Youth and LGBTQ Youth of Color
The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and mental health organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people, released the findings of its 2022 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health today (May 4), representing the experiences of nearly 34,000 LGBTQ youth (ages 13-24) across the U.S. With 45% of respondents being LGBTQ youth of color and 48% being transgender or nonbinary, the survey is one of the most diverse surveys of LGBTQ youth ever conducted. Comparing data from the organization’s annual national surveys over the past three years, reports of seriously considering suicide among LGBTQ youth respondents have increased from 40% to 42% to 45%.
Boeing Names Northern Virginia Office Its Global Headquarters; Establishes Research & Technology Hub
Boeing announced today (May 5) that its Arlington, Va., campus just outside Washington, D.C., will serve as the company’s global headquarters. The aerospace and defense firm’s employees in the region support various corporate functions and specialize in advanced airplane development and autonomous systems. In addition to designating Northern Virginia as its new headquarters, Boeing plans to develop a research & technology hub in the area to harness and attract engineering and technical capabilities.
